My vampire

Did you know that I have a vampire that lives in my house? He's about 33 inches tall and likes to trick people into thinking he's a silly baby. Then, just when he's completely deceived you, he SNAPS! He comes at you sort of like a snake and then he chomps down and laughs with glee as you scream and try to pry him off of you. Once he has his jaws of steel clamped down, and the giggles are coming out, its nearly impossible to pry him off without doing damage to your skin (further than what he all ready caused). I'm not sure if he's trying to draw blood, or if he just likes the taste of his mama's flesh, but whatever it is- IT HURTS! Tonight, just after I had got him all ready for bed, I was holding him and looking at him face to face. I told him I loved him and he smiled, then he opened his mouth, grabbed my face and went in for what I thought was going to be one of his slobbery kisses, just as I closed my eyes to brace myself for the goo that would then be on my face, he redirected his mouth and bit down as hard as he could on my neck. And he was laughing as I was trying my hardest to unclamp his jaw. Scott just sat and watched. He's seen this scenario before, and he knows not to get involved, or he too could become a victim. Or at least that's what I think he's doing.. here are some pictures of my bite. I'm going to have a lot of explaining to do to people that will see me tomorrow. At least my husband was a witness that this bite did in fact come from a baby, his own flesh and blood (who just wanted a taste of my flesh and blood apparently), Noah. Yes folks, it was Noah. Don't let his cute face trick you, or you might be sporting one of his love bites before long.

I'm a geezer

So, growing up I'd always look at people that were married and had children as though they were SO much older and so adult. Here I am about to turn 27 and I don't feel old. Here are two recent examples that opened my eyes as to just how "grown up" I am now.
-The other night, I spoke with Scott about having the missionaries over for dinner. He said, "Why?" and I said, "That's what people in the ward do, they feed the elders! Don't you remember your parents doing that when you were growing up?" and he said, "well yeah, but people that have the missionaries over are grown-ups, with kids and stuff like that. " me, "And how do we not fall into that category?" Scott, "grown-ups have a dining table, we don't" me, "What's that thing in the kitchen that seats 4?" and to this statement...silence..that's all I got. He and I both realized, we're sort of growing up.
-My next example is this; I was cleaning out my closet a couple weeks ago and I found 3 rolls of undeveloped film. So I took them to Target, they said that they'd have to ship the film out and it'd be back in about 10 days. I was thinking, "man, what happened to the days of one hour photo?" Apparently, these days that only applies to digital photos. So, yesterday I went to Target to pick up my film and the teenager behind the counter handed me the rolls and said, "These are blank" to which I responded, "see here on the cartridge? it says that the roll has been used and has photos on it?" (there was a tab indicating that). He just started blankly at me. So I continued, "could it be that it expired?" he said, "I don't know, we don't know much about camera film. Just digital" And that my friends, is where I felt like a geezer. So I quickly responded, "Oh..well, yeah...of course! I mean, -I- didn't use these recently! I have a digital camera.. I just found these in the back of my closet from years ago..." And then I walked off realizing that the years of film are apparently over..

Noah's first REAL haircut

Before today, I've cut Noah's hair 4 times. Just a couple trims on his bangs, and on his mullet. I decided it was time for a real hair cut, so we went to Cookie Cutter's today at 10:45am to be specific! Noah got to sit in a "hot rod" for his hair cut while he watched a DVD with Elmo in it. I blew bubbles at him and he did so great sitting still for his haircut. I think that was mostly because he was confused about everything that was going on. I miss his curls like crazy, but with summer coming, I think this new 'do will be a lot cooler for him.
